Cascade Run
Théo and Priya traded runs on a new line through the Whakarewarewa forest, chasing the same six seconds.
The forest trail crews had cut this line eight weeks before we arrived and it hadn’t been filmed properly yet, which is usually the best time to shoot — the dirt is still loose in the right way. Théo and Priya traded runs all afternoon, each one a half-second faster, until the light went and they were still arguing about the last root section.
Chase moto for the flow sections, a static long lens on the two technical drops. We cut their fastest two runs together rather than picking a winner — the piece was never about who was quicker, it was about how different two good lines through the same trail can look.
