Langar Exit
Sam's exit from 3,800 metres over the airfield, filmed from a chase plane flying the same line.
This one is short because wingsuit flights are short — ninety seconds of glide from exit to pull, and there is no second take if any of it goes wrong, so we shoot it once and shoot it carefully. Sam had flown this line a dozen times before we ever pointed a camera at it.
The chase plane flew the same track at a fixed offset, camera operator harnessed into the open door. Helmet camera for the exit and the close pass over the airfield boundary; the chase plane for everything that needed room to breathe. Total usable footage: four minutes. Total time in the air to get it: most of a day.
