What rope access actually costs you

Rope access for climbing footage is its own discipline, separate from both climbing and filming, and we are still bad enough at it that the Verdon shoot took four days longer than planned. Our rigger’s rule, learned the hard way on day one: fix the camera line before you tell anyone the light looks good. The light will still look good in twenty minutes; a rushed anchor will not forgive you twice.
We are hiring a second rigger for next season. If you know one who free-climbs 5.11 and doesn’t mind hanging still for two hours at a time, we’d like to hear from you.
